Iona & Darren's Family Garden Marquee Wedding

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing Iona & Darren's most gorgeous wedding which took place at Iona's grandparents house. It was the most fun and vibrant wedding with lots of dancing, emotions and just pure vibes from everyone!

Getting Ready in the family home

When I first arrived at Iona's Grandparents family house I was in awe at how stunning their place was! Not only the house itself but the garden grounds were absolutely beautiful.

Iona's prep was very chilled with only her 3 bridesmaids and a few family members present. Iona & Darren had already done the legal bit a few months prior which definitely took the pressure off! During the prep Iona and her Grandma had a super cute moment, where she brought out her wedding album to show Iona. It was a very touching moment.

Halfway through the girls getting ready the boys arrived! They took no time getting into the party vibe and got straight to taking shots! I knew from then it was going to be good one. Darren and his groomsmen got ready down the hall from the girls, when I went to visit them they were practicing their secret dance ready for later!

I then took some last shots of Darren and Iona once they were fully ready before the guests started arriving.

Garden Wedding Ceremony

Iona & Darren set up their ceremony in the gorgeous setting of the house garden. Because they had already done the legal bit, the actual ceremony was super relaxed! A family friend led the ceremony which made it much more personal. There was also something so special about the ceremony taking place where Iona has so many wonderful childhood memories.

During the ceremony Iona & Darren both read their own vows to each other and oh my how sweet it was to hear them, many tears were shed from everyone.

Couple Portraits in the garden

Once Iona & Darren had some time with their guests to celebrate the I do's! I took them for a stroll around the family's garden. We made the most of the gorgeous surroundings whilst also making sure I gave them enough time to soak in the moments.

I also had to make sure we had a moment for Iona's gorgeous dress which is from Angelica Bridal. The train on this dress needed it's own moment because just look at how beautiful it is.

Marquee wedding speeches

After we finished taking Iona and Darren's photos, it was time for the meal as well as some down time with the guests. Then it was time for the speeches. The speeches were kept short and sweet but they were all so lovely and again more tears were shed! It felt like the perfect transition to what would become the best evening full of dancing!

Chilled evening portraits to epic dance-floor vibes

There was a good amount time in-between speeches and the first dance, so we snuck away for 5 minutes to get some chilled photos of Iona and Darren. Then after some more relaxing with their guests which included many shots being taken! It was time for their first dance.

Then it was time for the vibes to fully get underway, which started with Darren and his groomsmen showing off their dance they practiced earlier. After that the dancing never stopped with the groomsmen being at the center of it all. They made sure the vibes never stopped!
